OSHIBANA (2020)

The Japanese art of flower pressing, known as 'oshibana', inspired us to embark on a creative family project during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

To stay entertained, our 5-year-old daughter, Hannah, became engrossed in a pet project pressing tiny flowers she had foraged during our neighbourhood walks using a miniature flower press kit.

Shooting in the confines of our home, I began photographing her creations, which we turned into unique gift cards for Mother's Day to accompany a florist's choice bouquet created by my wife, Basia.

Although Hannah did not fully grasp the significance of our project created during COVID-19, she felt a sense of pride and happiness with her creations. Her flower pressings are now available in large-format Limited Edition prints.
